Multistage centrifugal pumps of WHG type are designed for use in liquid transfer systems, including liquids richer in volatile components such as: distillates, solvents, liquid and liquid-gas fuels including LPG.
Provided that it is primed in advance, the pump spontaneously draws liquid from a reservoir located below the pump axis. The pumping of two-phase media, in which vapor and gas appear next to the liquid, is made possible by The use of a special circulating-vacuum section in the pump. Construction of a special additional pre-impeller in front of the first stage of the pump causes that the NPSH surplus of WHG pumps is lower than in other pumps of this type. The design solutions used in the WHG pump cause the pump to achieve higher energy efficiency and a much wider operating range than other pumps circulators.
